Dr. Rosalyn M. Aranas graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a minor in psychology from Loyola University Chicago.

Dr. Aranas graduated from medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago in 2005. The American Academy of Neurology awarded Dr. Aranas the 2005 Medical Student Prize for Excellence in Clinical Neurology. One graduating medical student in each U.S. medical school is awarded this prestigious recognition annually who has demonstrated outstanding clinical knowledge and acumen in the field of neurology and is nominated by faculty and residents.

She completed her Neurology Residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

During her residency, she conducted clinical research and published an original article in the Journal of Neurocritical Care (June 2009, Volume 10, Issue 3, pp 306-312) entitled Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome Associated with Hemorrhage. Dr. Aranas presented her clinical research to the World Stroke Congress in Vienna, Austria, in 2008.

After completing her neurology residency, she pursued and completed a formal fellowship training in Sleep Disorders Medicine at Rush University Sleep Disorders Center. She had the benefit of having been trained by a multi-disciplinary team of sleep medicine specialists, including neurologists, pulmonologists, psychologists, and insomnia specialists, who provided her with a well-rounded clinical knowledge and background in the field of sleep medicine. She is adept in treating various sleep disorders such as Central Sleep Apnea, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Primary Benign Snoring, Restless Legs Syndrome, Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, Circadian Rhythm Disorders, REM behavioral disorders, and other sleep disorders associated with neurological disorders.

She then pursued and completed a formal fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago. She gained extensive training and experience in diagnosing and treating neuromuscular diseases and epilepsy. Dr. Aranas learned essential skills in performing and interpreting Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Studies (EMG/NCV) and prolonged inpatient and ambulatory Electroencephalography (EEG), which are diagnostic tests used to evaluate for neuromuscular and seizure disorders, respectively. She is also a graduate of the Kiffin-Penry Neurology Resident Comprehensive Epilepsy Program and Advanced Epilepsy Mini-Fellowship Program. 

Dr. Aranas is a strong advocate for her patients and in the field of neurology. She is passionate about providing excellent, unparalleled, and compassionate care for all her patients. She was selected by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) as one of the 2014 Palatucci Leadership Advocacy Forum recipient, a highly selective process that identifies neurologists who exhibit strong leadership potential, a passion for neurology, and a strong desire to improve the U.S. health care system and quality of care for patients. She represented the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) in Capitol Hill, Washington D.C., in health care policy advocating for the specialty of neurology and patients with neurological diseases.

Dr. Aranas was also selected as one of the first cohorts of the 2018 AMITA Health System Healthcare Leadership Academy. She led a team of physicians and hospital administrators to advocate for Dyad Leadership in Healthcare to improve collaboration and communication among physicians and healthcare administrators in the healthcare setting to create a more efficient and patient-centered care delivery. 

Dr. Aranas received her Business of Medicine Physician Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Kelley School of Business of Indiana University in May 2020. Her combined healthcare-focused MBA skills and clinical expertise further reinforce her leadership skills to undertake and solve the challenges in healthcare and enhance patient care and outcomes.

She currently practices full-time adult general neurology and sleep medicine at The Neurology and Sleep Clinics of Chicago S.C. in Schaumburg, IL. She is Board Certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Clinical Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
